This will be discussed at the CPS Permanency Conference that you will be invited to attend during the fifth month that your child is in foster care. You, your caseworker, and the foster parents may be able to set up a schedule so you can visit regularly to talk about your child. It is important that family members, once aware that the child is in foster care, immediately contact the county where the child resides to request placement and adoption of the child. It is important to keep the social worker and the child’s attorney informed of any additional training you may need to meet the specific needs of the child in your care.
